What is Puppis S1?
The Puppis S1 is a specialized router designed for enhanced streaming between VR headsets and PCs. It utilizes 802.11AX Wi-Fi technology and a dedicated 5G band to ensure a smooth and stable connection. With the Puppis S1, you can enjoy virtual reality experiences with optimized streaming performance, reduced latency, and improved overall performance. Additionally, it supports both 2.4G WIFI and PC Internet Sharing, providing flexibility in how you connect to the Internet.
Why the name Puppis?
It’s a Latin words referring to a constellation of Argo Navis, which traces back to the encouraging story of Jason and the Argonauts.
How to set up stream？
1. Use a USB-C cable to connect the Puppis S1 (make sure to differentiate between left and right according to the labels).
2. Plug the two USB-A connectors of the cable into your PC.
3. Waiting for the product to power on and complete startup, which takes about 30 seconds.
4. Download the PrismXR App, open Bluetooth to connect to the Puppis S1, and configure the Wi-Fi for the Puppis S1. (Or, you can enable PC Internet Sharing in your PC settings and share the internet with the Puppis S1.)
5. Select PrismPulse from the Wi-Fi lists on your VR Headset.
6. Open Virtual Desktop or Quest Link, and then you can start streaming.
Can PC VR streaming work without an internet connection on Puppis S1?
Yes, you can. You only need to follow these five steps:
1. Use a USB-C cable to connect the Puppis S1 (make sure to differentiate between left and right according to the labels).
2. Plug the two USB-A connectors of the cable into your PC.
3. Waiting for the product to power on and complete startup, which takes about 30 seconds.
4. Select PrismPulse from the Wi-Fi lists on your VR Headset.
5. Open Virtual Desktop or Quest Link, and then you can start streaming.
If it is a common device such as a mobile phone or laptop, can PrismPulse network be used?
Yes, if the HMD is a common VR device such as Quest, Pico, etc., then PrismPulse can be used directly; if it is not a VR device, then authorization from the PrismXR APP is required to use the PrismPulse network.
What are the differences between the three modes?
There are three modes of Puppis S1: PrismPulse Mode, Wi-Fi Hotspot Mode, and Wi-Fi Adapter Mode.
1. PrismPulse Mode: Establish a high-speed, dedicated connection between your PC and HMD.
2. Wi-Fi Hotspot Mode: Function as an access point, establishing a Local Area Network (LAN) for PCs and other wireless devices.
3. Wi-Fi Adapter Mode: Function as a client to enable your PC to connect to the Internet.
What each mode is most suited for?
1. PrismPulse Mode: This mode is best suited for streaming. It establishes a high-speed, dedicated connection between your PC and HMD (head-mounted display).
2. Wi-Fi Hotspot Mode: In this mode, Puppis S1 can broadcast a wireless hotspot. Devices such as smartphones and laptops can connect to the hotspot and access the internet.
3. Wi-Fi Adapter Mode: In this mode, Puppis S1 functions as a Wi-Fi adapter. It can help computers that do not support wireless connectivity to connect to Wi-Fi and access the internet.
Can I use a USB-C to USB-C data cable to connect the PC and Puppis S1?
Yes, you can.
Considering that many PCs do not have USB-C ports, we also provide a dual USB-A to USB-C data cable. You can choose to use a USB-C to USB-C data cable, which is not provided, to connect your PC and Puppis S1.
Note: If you find that Puppis S1 cannot be turned on while using the USB-C to USB-C data cable, please unplug the Type-C connector from the Puppis end, rotate it 180 degrees, and plug it in again.
How to connect the Puppis S1 to the internet?
There are two ways to connect the Puppis S1 to the internet: 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and PC Internet Sharing. If your computer is connected via Ethernet, the network signal will be more stable.
How to set up PC Internet Sharing?
Preparation:
1. Connect Puppis S1 to the PC and power it on.
2. Connect the PC to Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
3. Check the PC network status and confirm the port for Puppis S1.
3-1. Right-click on "This PC" and select "Properties" to open the Computer Properties interface.
3-2. In the Properties interface, click on "Network and Internet" and then click on "Advanced network settings."
3-3. In the Advanced network settings interface, select "More network adapter options" to open more network adapter options.
3-4. In the Network Connections interface, confirm the following information:
a. Check the PC network status and confirm that the network is available.
b. Confirm the port for Puppis S1, which should be labeled with the words "ASIX AX88179A..." for Ethernet.
Steps:
1. Right-click on the network (Ethernet or WLAN) connected to your PC and select "Properties" to open the Ethernet or WLAN properties interface.
2. In the Ethernet or WLAN properties interface, click on "Sharing" to open the sharing interface.
3. Check the box next to "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection (N)."
4. For Windows 11 users, select the network port of Puppis S1 in the "Home networking connection (H)" option.
Note: This step is not required for Windows 10 or earlier users.
5. Click "OK" to complete PC Internet Sharing.

How to disable PC Internet Sharing?
1. Right-click on the network (Ethernet or WLAN) connected to your PC and select "Properties" to open the Ethernet or WLAN properties interface.
2. In the Ethernet or WLAN properties interface, click on "Sharing" to open the sharing interface.
3. Uncheck the checkbox before "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection (N)".
4. Click "OK" to complete the cancellation of PC Internet Sharing.
