I’m using the Wayfarer Gen 2, and I mainly use them for listening to music, taking photos, or recording short videos, and occasionally answering calls. They’re incredibly convenient, but battery life has always been my biggest frustration.
I’m nearsighted and need to wear my glasses all day. When the battery dies, I can’t just put them back into the charging case because then I’d have no glasses to wear. That’s what made me decide to try the PrismXR Carina C2 charging mount.
The Ray-Ban Meta normally charge through two small contacts on the bridge. The Carina C2 mount extends those contacts to the temple and converts them into a magnetic charging port. Installation only took a few minutes, and after that you simply attach the battery module to start charging.
I’ve only been using it for a few days so far, but everything has worked smoothly. Being able to charge the glasses while still wearing them makes a huge difference. I no longer have to worry about the battery dying in the middle of the day.

Pros
1. Charging experience: This is honestly a game changer for me. Instead of putting the glasses back into the charging case every time they run out of power, I can just snap a battery module onto the temple and keep using them. With two hot-swappable batteries, the snap-and-go design makes it very easy to extend the runtime for a full day.
2. Installation: Installation was quick and easy. The part that connects to the bridge contacts is extremely thin and is secured with adhesive, which keeps everything stable without affecting comfort.
3. Design: The mount is very slim and blends in well with the frames. The whole setup is almost invisible and doesn’t change the original look of the glasses.
4. Comfort: Even with the mount installed, the glasses still feel comfortable. I barely notice it’s even there.

Cons
A few things to be aware of:
1. The LED indicator on the battery module isn’t very clear, so it can sometimes be hard to tell its status.
2. Since I’m using the Wayfarer Gen 2, a single battery module isn’t enough to fully recharge the glasses. When listening to music, it typically adds around 50% battery. There’s also no clear charging indicator on the module, so I have to check the Meta AI app to confirm that it’s still charging.
3. Because I rely on the charging case much less now, there are times when I pick up the glasses and realize the battery is already low. Charging from 0 until the glasses power back on does take a little while.

Overall
So far the experience has been very positive. I can keep using my glasses without worrying about the battery and easily get through a full day. If you’ve been frustrated with the battery life on Ray-Ban Meta, the Carina C2 is definitely worth considering.
I will update this review if anything changes with longer-term use.

The charging works perfectly and it looks great. My only minor gripe is that the fit in the case is very snug, which is good for security but takes a second to get used to. Overall, a must-have accessory.
