A solid upgrade from Carina C1

I was a Carina C1 user before, and I did run into some charging stability issues during use. I’ve always liked the design and overall build of the product as well, so I just went for the C2 when it came out.

After switching, I started using the C2 with my Ray-Ban Meta for daily use. After a couple of days, I actually noticed a pretty clear improvement in stability. It just feels more consistent, which I didn’t fully expect at first, and it’s now what I mainly use to keep them charged.

Before the C2, battery life was always a bit of an issue for me. I wear my glasses all day, so when the battery died, I couldn’t just leave them in the charging case since I still need to wear them. That usually meant planning around charging, which was never really convenient. With the C2, that issue is basically gone. It’s a 1115mAh total system with two 220mAh batteries, and in daily use I don’t really run into situations where the glasses suddenly die on me anymore.

Charging performance is excellent and pretty simple, you just attach the battery to the temple port and keep using the glasses like normal. When one battery runs out, I just swap to the other and continue, so there’s no real interruption. Not having cables hanging off the glasses also makes a bigger difference than I expected. It still feels natural to wear even after hours.

Installation was actually pretty straightforward. I’ve installed the C1 before, so it felt very familiar. The whole process is basically the same: aligning the pogo pins, attaching the nose and temple mount, and securing everything in place. Maybe slightly easier this time, but not by much. Nothing complicated.

Overall, it feels solid and well thought out. It’s slim, doesn’t really change the look of the glasses, and just blends into daily use pretty naturally.
